The Great Pyramid Of Giza - A Monumental Structure

Egypt is one of the richest countries in Africa in terms of history. The history of Egypt dates back to ancient times before the Bible. The biblical and cultural history of Egypt is as varied and intriguing as the unexplored tombs and cities that lie beneath the desert sand in Upper and Lower Egypt.

Cairo is a city full of life. One aspect that I quickly noticed when I set foot in Cairo was movement. Cairo has over 16 million inhabitants, of which another 2 million people arrive in the city in the morning and leave at sunset. Despite the fact that the city has huge multi-lane spaghetti roads, the traffic here is very heavy. As you approach the center, the highway from 3 lanes turns into 5. The most famous motorists are taxi drivers. When you drive around the city, one of your hands always remains on the horn. I thought Nairobi had the biggest traffic jam in Africa, but in Egypt traffic jams in Nairobi certainly seem like child's play.

The pyramids at Giza are clearly visible from most parts of the city on a clear day. The private tour Giza pyramids, Great Pyramids of Giza are such imposing and monumental structures. It is absolutely stunning to imagine that an ancient man with limited technology and skill could build such a huge structure. Of course, how the pyramids were built is a matter of global debate, and there may never be a definitive answer. Other theories even point to aliens from space as the sole builders of the pyramids in Egypt.

The Great Pyramid of Cheops, the largest of the pyramids of Giza, is 140 meters high. It is a breathtaking sight to walk up to the foot of the pyramid and just look at its huge size. It is estimated that each block of stone weighs about 2.5 tons, and more than 2.3 million of these blocks were used to build this pyramid. It is estimated that the Great Pyramid of Cheops weighs over 6 million tons. One aspect that I have noticed while viewing the pyramids from afar is the accurate and accurate structural design. Although much of the facing marble was removed centuries ago and subsequently eroded by rain and sunlight, safe for most peaks, the triangular structural design is absolutely perfect.

The most intriguing aspect of the pyramid is the entrance to its inner chambers. This is a task that many people, myself included, find difficult. Anyone who is 6 feet tall like me will definitely break a sweat trying to maneuver through the inner chambers of the pyramid. The entrance is about 1 square meter. It doesn't end there; Then I realize that it's actually a ladder going up at an angle. Have you ever tried to squat down stairs? Imagine that you are climbing a staircase, the entire passage of which is 1 square meter. To make matters worse, it's summer and the temperature outside is about 35 degrees Celsius. The flight of stairs in the pyramid has no windows or air conditioning; so you can imagine how hot it is. Other passages descend while others go horizontally. Inside the pyramid are different burial chambers for the king and queen. The tomb, of course, was robbed centuries ago and archaeologists found it empty. Any information about King Cheops was subsequently seized during robberies and very little is known about him. It is believed that he was the ruler of a highly structured society and must have been very wealthy. King Cheops was buried alone in this massive pyramid. It is estimated that his pyramid was built between 2589 - 2566 BC.

From the Pyramids I visited the Valley of the Temple where the dead kings were mummified. The mysterious Sphinx guarded the cemetery for over 5,000 years.

Egypt is not complete without a visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses the largest collection of Egyptian monuments in the world, with 250,000 items. Here you can also see the decorations of the famous king Tutankh Amun, which date back to 1352 BC. A Giza pyramid tour is a must. It was built in 1176. Also worth seeing is the alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali, built in 1824 AD.

In the evening I went to have dinner at a floating restaurant during a cruise on the Nile. On board was a beautiful belly dancer who entertained visitors and a folklore show. The cruise deck offers a beautiful view of Cairo at night. At night the city is very well lit.

During the summer, Cairo is more active at night than during the day. This is due to the high temperatures during the day. Shops, restaurants, malls, etc. remain open most of the night.
